Six months ago, I could have cared less about baseball.  I thought watching baseball on TV was about as exciting as watching paint dry.  I started watching the Brewers games with Pete because he liked it and I was being a good girlfriend.  Then we went to the game in Milwaukee and he really explained the game to me and I understood the order and the different plays and how the game worked.  And the more I learned about it, the more I liked it because it made sense to me.  It was more than just some guys trying to hit a ball.   Me, a baseball fan, go fucking figure.Now, I watch the games with Pete because *I* want to (not just to be a good girlfriend) and am interested in the game.   I just watched the Brewers game by myself after Pete went to bed.  And I paid attention and I got excited when they scored and got irritated when they missed a ball.  I watch for the scores on the news now and I know how many games they are ahead of the Cardinals.  When I went back to give Pete his Percoset, I was telling him about a cool play that Ryan Braun made, being chased around by the 1st and 2nd basemen.  When John Axford came up to the mound to pitch the 9th inning, I actually said to the TV, “Why is he pitching?  They are ahead by more than 4,” just before the announcers commented on the same thing and said he was already warming up because at the top of the inning they were ahead by less than 4.  I couldn’t believe this was me saying this shit all on my own!
